New Recruits and Recent Departures
December 22, 2014 Oasis500

This month Oasis500 farewelled Serene Shalan, our network manager at Oasis500. Serene joined Oasis500 in January 2011, as the Senior Networks Officer, managing both the Mentor and Angel Networks. She contributed significantly to changing the entrepreneurial landscape within the ICT sector in Jordan. Her efforts have guided our entrepreneurs and rationalized their projects towards success. We at Oasis500 wish Serene the best both professionally and personally. Serene has been an indispensable part of our team – we know she will continue to attain all the success she deserves and achieve major milestones.

We congratulate Mohammad Albattikhi, Oasis500’s new Acceleration Manager, and Nadine Khayri, our Training Office, on being our newest members of the Oasis500 family.

Mohammad co-founded and directed Western Michigan University’s Business Accelerator, Starting Gate. He guided the university’s entrepreneurs by helping them define the scope of their companies and providing them with the tools and contacts necessary to achieve meaningful milestones with their business ventures. Mohammad organized various workshops and events in the United States and Jordan to foster the entrepreneurial ecosystem, such as Startup Weekend, Startup Grind and Startup Tribe. He also curates Startup Digest Jordan and Startup Digest Enterprise.

Nadine Khayri was raised in Saudi Arabia; she finished high school from “Dhahran Academy High School” in Khobar and then moved to Palestine to pursue her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from Birzeit University. Her career commenced in Palestine for a New Beginning (PNB) where she primarily supported all programs including Celebration of Innovation and Global Entrepreneurship Week. Through a strategic alliance with Leaders Organization, Nadine also coordinated the Palestinian House in Silicon Valley program, which is a program that focuses on providing trainings and exposure for Palestinian entrepreneurs in the region. As Nadine always thrive for self-improvement, she decided to move to Amman, Jordan after spending few years in Palestine and work for Oasis500 as a training officer.

We are very excited to have Mohammad and Nadine on board.
